Emily in Ecuador is moving from Blogger to WordPress
After months of planning, excitement and a lot of work, I am moving Emily in Ecuador from Blogger to WordPress. I have converted all of my content to a new website that I administer (WordPress) instead of using Google’s free blogging software (Blogger). Why am I moving? Blogger (owned by Google) has not been updated for years. During the past year, I noticed some things that did not work properly in Blogger. Two in particular pushed me to make the decision to abandon ship: People filled out my contact Emily page and I never received the email. Comments on my blog stopped being emailed to me. Thank you to Jz,…

A to Z Challenge Theme Reveal #AtoZChallenge
Ready for Puerto Lopez, a coastal Ecuador fishing town, A to Z? Throughout April, you will see one photo per day with a 26-word description. This paragraph alone has 55 words. Also, I spend an inordinate amount of time trying to decide on just one photo.Announcing AtoZ Challenge theme changes! Beginning today, more…

2017 A to Z Reflections #AtoZChallenge
I survived the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge and earned a badge! It is tradition for participants to post reflections after the Challenge. These are my 2017 A to Z reflections. How it started In the last week of March, author Donna B. McNicol asked if any of her friends were participating. I said yes! I had been wanting to get into blogging and figured this was a great opportunity. Why not sign up and learn as I go? Theme I wrote about Ecuador since I live in a country that is not well known globally. Topics On April 1, I had a list with a topic for…

Blogging from A to Z April Challenge
Can I complete the A to Z Challenge, writing a blog post (almost) every day in April? We are about to find out! I am participating in the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge. Every non-Sunday in April, I will post a blog based on a letter of the alphabet. So, April 1=A, April 3=B, etc. That is 26 posts in one month! If you write a blog or have thought about starting one, I encourage you to participate, too! Comment with the URL of your blog so I can find you. Tweet about it with #atozchallenge so others can find you.
